Steve Keene

I've been a fiddle player now for some thirty years (and violin a bit longer). I started at Uni but only really got serious when I moved to Liverpool and met up with the Liverpool Ceili Band. Eamon Coyne, Sean Macnamara and Peggy Peakin taught me all I know and a fair bit I've forgotten. I played in the All-Ireland finals in Listowel, Co Kerry in 1981

I've never played in a group, as such, but did play in the All-Ireland one year with the short-lived Ferry Ceili Band (we didn't win!) which did a few gigs around Liverpool and played on BBC GMR one evening.

Bespoke Fiddle Lessons - I provide lessons to beginners or more advanced players. I try and do whatever you would like to do - learn some tunes, how to do ornaments, bowing style, even (ssshh) vibrato.

I have the Teastas Diploma and was the first person from the UK to gain it.

Dance calling - I've done a fair bit of calling at Barn Dances over the years and am open to offers.
